I’m Zaza!

I’m the founder of Zaza Marcelle Cake Design and a trained French Patisserie Chef with experience in prestigious patisseries across France and England. 

When I stepped into the world of cake design only I quickly realised that most resources focused on the same buttercream-and-sponge formula. 

I wanted more (and if you’re here, I know that you do too!) - cakes that didn’t just look beautiful but also delivered unforgettable flavours. 

And beyond that, I wanted to build a business that truly stood out.

I did not “start from scratch”... 

 

I did have a professional Chef background and experience in prestigious Patisseries and Cake Shops.  

But I still had to figure out a lot on my own - how to blend patisserie techniques with cake artistry, how to position myself as a high-end cake designer, and how to navigate the business side of things (ie the fun part!).

That’s why I created The Modern Cake Society - I wanted a space for passionate cake makers who want to do more than follow trends. 

Here, I help you master your craft, infuse patisserie expertise into your cakes, and gain the business clarity you need to build a brand that gets noticed.
